French Timber Salt Box
A classically Provencal timber salt box. Likely originating from the late 19th to early 20th century, this quirky little box with pull out drawer was originally used to store salt and spices in a farmhouse kitchen. Sourced by us in Carpentras.

We can envision this piece styled against your backsplash, storing salt or other essentials as it was originally intended, instantly adding warmth. We also think it would be gorgeous wall hung, and from time to time styled with blooms out of it’s top.
The design of the top allows this piece to be wall hung with a nail if desired. Further wall hanging provisions could also be added to the back. This piece has been thoroughly cleaned; however, a small amount of dust may remain inside the hinges of the timber. Please note that the timber at the back shows signs of wear, but it is structurally sound. All our pieces show signs of their age, this is part of their charm.
