Blackened Earthenware Vessel

A hand-thrown terracotta vessel, thought to be blackened by years of open-fire use. Sourced by us in Provence.

Its patina and small lug handles suggest it originates from the early 20^th century.

Originally utilitarian, until time, and heat, revealed its beauty. Now the perfect rustic styling piece, standalone or paired with a bouquet of your favourite blooms.

Measuring approximately 15cm tall by 18cm wide. Please note that our pieces show signs of wear and age, this is part of their charm.

This piece has been thoroughly cleaned by us since arriving in Australia, as sometimes a light residue transfers onto the hands when handling it. This is because your hands warm its hearth blackened finish, leading to transfer. We have sealed the vessel to protect against this, however despite our best efforts some residue may remain. We have not experienced any transfer onto surfaces. Please do not scrub this piece, as it will wear away its blackened patina. Rinse with warm water only and pat dry.
